Ever take a photo and be disappointed in how the camera captured it? Your eyes see such a wide dynamic range of light, colors and shadows. Your camera can only capture a fraction of what you actually see. This is why I post process all my images. I try and bring the image to what I saw. The photo below is at the “Little Grand Canyon” of Yellowstone National Park. This particular area is called Inspiration Point. The day was beautiful and the landscape was breathtaking. I wanted to be sure to convey this through the photo I took. But again my camera could only capture so much. Luckily I shot in raw format so the camera could capture as much detail as possible. Then in Adobe Lightroom I simply brought out the shadows and turned down the highlights. This put much more color in the sky and the sides of the valley.
Check out the before and after by pushing the slider left and right or by using the links below the image. Tell me if you are inspired to take more photos and bring back the image your camera captured to what you remember seeing that day.
Located in West Tamarac, my studio can accommodate small families for group and individual portraits. If you prefer the park or beach, I have several locations I can recommend based on what kind of scenery you like.
Be sure to check the weather before booking an outdoor photo session. Depending on the forecast we may have to reschedule your shoot due to weather.
